Are You an Ideal Candidate for CoolSculpting®?
Freezing away fat cells may sound like something from the future but, in fact, CoolSculpting is FDA cleared and available right now for the right candidates!
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
CoolSculpting is a non-invasive controlled cooling that freezes fat cells under the skin. It cools the cells to the point that they die off and eventually are metabolized and eliminated by the body. This process normally takes anywhere from 8 – 12 weeks. There is little to no downtime with minimal side effects that dissipate quickly.
Treatments are typically performed on the abdomen, thighs, love handles, back, arms, and under the chin. The options are endless!
Ideal Candidates for CoolSculpting
You must first undergo a physical screening and consultation by Wendy Gottlieb, MD in order to know if this procedure is right for you.
You Must Be at or Near Your Optimal Weight
CoolSculpting is not a way to lose weight. It is also not a procedure for the overweight or obese, and it will not help you lose 30 or 40 pounds.
Before you are eligible for this procedure, you need to drop any excess pounds as CoolSculpting is designed for persons who have extra fat that hangs on regardless of how much you exercise or stick to your diet.
Reasonable Expectations and Patience
Once you understand what CoolSculpting can and cannot do for you, you must also be patient with the results. They will not be instantaneous, but normally take up to four months to fully materialize. If you are trying to eliminate those stubborn patches of fat before a wedding or another special occasion, plan ahead. Schedule your treatments accordingly to give them enough time to really work before your big event.
You Must Generally Be in Good Health
Although this procedure is low risk, it is still important to be healthy and not have certain conditions. Some issues that would eliminate you from having CoolSculpting include the following:
- Chronic fatigue
- Being pregnant or considering pregnancy
- Fibromyalgia
- Any autoimmune diseases
- Having a history of bulimia or anorexia in the last year
- Having a history of a hernia in the treated area
- Having had surgery on the area to be treated
You Must Be at Least Nineteen Years Old
Exercise Has Not Worked on Your Fat Patches
Many people at a healthy weight cannot get rid of stubborn fat areas. No amount of exercise or dieting seems to work. If you don’t want to undergo liposuctions, then non-invasive CoolSculpting may be the answer for you. Most healthy people with problem areas of fat can achieve great results using these specialized treatments.
Now may be the time to get rid of those unwanted areas of stubborn fat and have the body of your dreams! Remember, you need to plan ahead for bikini season. Contact Wendy Gottlieb, MD at (703) 668-9499 for an evaluation, and find out if you might be an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting.
